What is Equality Defined?

I grew up in an underserved community in Northern California that bordered some of the wealthiest zip codes in America. As a child I saw the stark differences of access and opportunity of my black neighborhood and the predominately white neighborhoods surrounding us. I began reflecting on these memories of inequality in recent years.

And then, the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor in 2020, among other disparities, sparked a reckoning on race and systemic inequality. I decided that I had to act and what I could offer organizations is education on race and equity issues and provide coaching services to women of color who face disproportionate barriers to career advancement.

I believe fighting for equity in the world and in the workplace is my purpose. I hope Equality Defined will be a beacon for change by removing barriers and redefining work as a space for all.
